From May 12th to 14th, 2025, Cairo hosted the sixth and strongest edition of Waterex, the premier event for wate  r treatment and purification technologies in Egypt and the Middle East. This year’s edition stood out significantly from previous ones, attracting a large and diverse audience of specialists, engineers, researchers, consultants, and students over the three-day event.

Surge in Attendance Reflects Growing Focus on Water Challenges and Solutions

Right from its opening, Waterex 2025 experienced a remarkable influx of visitors with various interests—from water technology professionals and desalination experts to wastewater treatment specialists. Particularly notable was the strong participation of academics and students, who were eager to attend the exhibition and join the scientific seminars and technical discussions held throughout the event.

Cutting-Edge Technologies in Water Treatment Debut at Waterex

A wide range of leading companies took part in the exhibition, showcasing their latest innovations and advanced technologies in water treatment. Their participation reflected a strong interest in meeting the evolving demands of the local market, which is increasingly emphasizing efficient water use, recycling, and sustainable solutions. Many exhibitors introduced state-of-the-art systems for seawater desalination and wastewater purification, in line with new regulatory standards required by construction and infrastructure projects.

Strong Institutional and Governmental Presence

Many Egyptian water sector institutions—including water purification facilities and distribution authorities—actively participated in the event. Senior managers, engineers, and technical officials from water and wastewater plants across Egypt were present, exploring the latest global solutions to address the pressing water challenges facing the region, particularly in desalination and wastewater treatment.

A Truly International Exhibition

Waterex 2025 further solidified its status as a fully international exhibition. Companies from some of the world’s leading countries in water technology—such as Germany, Italy, China, and India—joined major Egyptian firms in showcasing the latest products, technologies, and integrated systems for the water industry.

Fire SEC: A Smart Addition to This Year's Edition

In a strategic expansion of the exhibition's scope, this year’s Waterex included a dedicated section for fire safety and protection systems under the "Fire SEC" banner. This new feature catered to the growing interest among visitors working in fire safety, early warning systems, and industrial security, and welcomed top national and international companies in fire protection and safety technology.

Pool & SPA: A Valuable Complement to the Main Event

Also debuting this year was "Pool & SPA", a standalone exhibition integrated within Waterex. This clever addition responded to increasing visitor interest in landscape architecture, water features, fountains, and swimming pools. The section saw heavy footfall and high engagement, with participation from leading local and global companies specializing in landscaping and water design technologies.



Scientific Dialogue through Conference Seminars

Alongside the exhibition, a series of expert-led scientific seminars were held, featuring prominent Egyptian water specialists from universities, institutes, and research centers. Discussions addressed key water challenges in desert and arid communities, offering innovative strategies and technological solutions for sustainable development.
